An enjoyable read. I started reading this book on holiday in a cosy house with an elegant bath and it fit the atmosphere perfectly. By the end of the first chapter, it felt like I was reading a classic novel, obviously aided by the fact that Jane Austen is one of the characters in the story. I love the author's note at the end and the fact that there are many hints at Austen's work and other historical facts throughout the story. Especially the struggle intelligent women had to face in those days was of interest to me. In all, a very good first read for 2024.
