This was an interesting tale that really took its time to build. But the moment where the rivals become lovers was extraordinary sweet. The single pov about drove me nuts and the plot was way to slow developing for my personal tastes. However, the world building was different and new and enjoyable. Outside of the pacing I enjoyed Upton’s narrative voice. While I loath single pov the majority of the time Meline was a reliable and effective narrator which made the read enjoyable enough. I’m definitely looking forward to Book 2 since it will be dual pov. This story ends on a to be continued and while I understand Meline’s point I’m only siding with her out of sisterhood solidarity!
