I am Not Sick, I Don't Need Help!: How to Help Someone With Mental Illness Accept Treatment by Xavier Francisco Amador

5.0

Good quality content that helps us understand that Ill person usually don't see illness in themselves. And that is the reason that reject help, and medicine.

There is example where its explained by example that if you can imagine that everyone around, doctors and family tell you that where you life is not your real home, and that life you know is not yours.
That is how that someone would have felt.
Wouldn't you just say to all of them that you are not interested in they're help?

Caused bt Anosognosia, with is a "defect of self-awareness, a condition in which a person with a disability is unaware of its existence. It was first named by the neurologist Joseph Babinski in 1914."

Hoover there is this The LEAP approach (Listen, Empathize, Agree, Partner), that this book describes.

And there is Perma model that I know of, witch I thing is even more appalling: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Achievement. (that one is not in that book though,I thought it's worth mentioning still.
