This book had SO much potential and it let me down almost every time. The plot had such a cool premise… and the pacing basically ruined. The FMC… insufferable. For a book about a girl in her 20’s, she felt so juvenile in her logic. The writing was like whiplash. Some scenes would be really cool, and then there would be modern dialogue that just completely threw me out of the story. The single romance scene was so awkward, and all the love interests reeked of bad YA. I’m giving it 3.5 stars because I was interested enough to read to the end, but I don’t think I’ll read book 2.
