What a great way to finish off the year! I was expecting this series, like most, to taper out in terms of entertainment, emotion, and effective diction. But it hasn't. Of course, there's still a chance with the fourth book (which I have on hold at the lie-berry) but for now I'm pleasantly surprised that the penultimate book in a series got 5 stars from me. Although I think The Penultimate Peril did that as well, so perhaps unsurprising from Lemony Snicket.

Without spoilers, I think anyone who loved the Mysterious Benedict Society books will love these.
