I enjoyed book one but I devoured book two. I loved the new characters we were introduced to in this installment and I want to protect Alucard with my life. I loved his character and he was a great contrast to Lila and I thought her character really got to develop because of him. The multi-narration was strong and kept me on my toes. I liked that the Essen Tasch was the the overarching plot and I thought it was really cool to see the magic system expand like that. I also thought it was interesting that certain characters were apart for most of the book, but we really got to see each of their perspectives which was cool. There were so many jaw-dropping moments and I was screaming for a lot of this book. I loved this one so much and while the cliffhanger was a big one, I'm super excited to start book three.
