I liked the idea of a historical romance mixed with a mystery, but I felt like this one fell a bit flat for me. It felt super slow and drawn out at points and it just couldn't keep my attention. I did really enjoy Katherine and I loved that she was an independent woman and a journalist. Caro was super fun and I think her and Valentine's story will be a delight. I also don't think there was much of a twist or reveal for me an it kind of felt anticlimactic. I liked Eversham and Katherine together, I just think it took a while for them to get there and I would have loved some more tension and push and pull. Overall, it was cute, just not one of my favorites in the genre.
