Crash by J.G. Ballard
3.0
JG Ballard was a master of writing disgusting things in a sophisticated way. This book is one of the filthiest novels I have ever read, but it reads so beautifully you'd almost forget it--except for the fluids. Like most great 20th century writers working in the west, Ballard had a fascination with the reliance on technology in the post-industrial age. This novel posits a sexual connection between people and machinery borne from the arousal of near-death experiences. If you're not interested in body-horror erotica with a fixation on disturbing, graphic violence.....don't read this.
