La principessa e il milionario by Chantelle Shaw
2.0
2.5 stars -- I sort of remember why I enjoyed it before, but now I just notice too many things that don't work for me anymore.
I'm attracted to insecure heroines, I really am. But her insecurities lasted WAY too long, and there wasn't a gradual progression to confidence...or it was kind of stutter-step-y. Plus, her confidence of course came from a makeover. Which...*sigh* is okay, but not ideal.
And then there's Nikos. I can't help but notice that he had moments where he was kind of abuse-y -- mentally, but he also grabbed Kitty at times. It wasn't huge, but I noticed it.
And while I can tolerate lack of communication, sometimes it's more annoying than others. This would be one of those times. If Nikos had even remotely confided in Kitty...well, I guess there wouldn't be much of a book. Or there would be a different book. It's not that I didn't sort of get his reluctance and trust issues, but at a certain point I got tired of it.
