The Invincible Summer of Juniper Jones by Daven McQueen
5.0
Wow. This book is amazing! It deserves all the hype it’s been receiving and then some! The story, while fictional, has a lot of true to life elements regarding race that can sadly be applied to situations still occurring to this day.
While reading this book, I fell in love with Juniper. Who wouldn’t? I wanted to be a part of her and Ethan’s friendship so badly. It was cute & heartwarming to say the least.
This book brought out some strong emotions in me. Basically, I cried. Hard. Quite a few times. It actually really surprised me because the meds usually have those tear ducts dried right up.
I absolutely recommend this book! I’d shout it from the rooftops if it wasn’t nighttime and I wasn’t terrified of the rooftop. It’s YA fiction but I don’t think it’s limited to that age range. I think people of all ages can read and enjoy this book.
