A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir
4.0
Truthfully, I wasn't as impressed by this book from Sabaa Tahir as I was with the first two.
Why? Because there was too much about the Empire and the fact that it was going to be taken over. I didn't like how it was ALWAYS in a battle or talking about a battle.
Especially with Elias. The fact that he fully turned into the Soul Catcher - that was a knife to the gut. But I understand that it has to be done.
The fact that Cook was Laia's mother was a real surprise. I loved the additional twists in this book, but the fighting overtook the story.
I can't wait for the finale in December, either way.
