Marriage in crisis is my favorite trope. I hate the trials the couples have been through and there are usually tons of triggers, but I love it.
This one gutted me. More than once. So many difficulties in the lives of Ty and Elin and their friends. I cannot imagine being a mining wife. I have dealt with the challenges E faces as a teacher. Seeing kids struggle and feelings overwhelming by grading.I also know the struggles of infertility and those parts were hard for me to read.
While I didn't love all of Ty's actions, I was really impressed with him once he got his head on straight. Elin was so strong (and stubborn). I also loved their friends. It was a great little community.
This was a little predictable, but it also had some really good moments of crisis and was really quite good. I cried at least twice and was on the edge of my seat a few times.
