Garvey's Choice by Nikki Grimes
5.0
Garvey Has trouble bonding with his father. He doesn’t like sports, his Father wants him to, though. To counsel his pain, he starts eating. Garvey joins the chorus and eventually, he meets a friend named Manny who has Albinism. Together they face bullying and hardship. Manny helps Garvey face bullies, and singing helps him face his father's disapproval.
I read Garvey’s Choice in about 10-20 minutes. It was a great book. It flowed very well, and the author was like nothing else. It also had a very relatable character. I love this book a lot. I love almost everything about it.
