The author offered a read-through of this book in August before the release of the next book in the series on September 3rd. I had never read this book but could see it was highly recommended so I took the plunge - boy am I glad I did! I was only supposed to read one chapter a day but I read the entire novel in two sittings.

Jack and Ginny are SUCH a power couple! I loved the character development from beginning to end. Joanna Barker masterfully weaves a delightfully suspenseful tail that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Jack is unapologetically himself and when paired with Ginny - someone who bends at every whim of society to try and fit in and save whatever reputation she can - we have an explosive couple just ripe with laugh-out-loud banter and deliciously frustrating tension. To see Ginny grow from the beginning to the end was beautiful to watch and I loved following along!

The story is surprisingly suspenseful as we follow the mystery of who is messing with Ginny, her home, and all she holds dear. This was a fast-paced read that kept you pulled in. The twists and turns were well-placed. I can’t say enough good things about this read. Pick it up and read it! Fans of romance and Sherlock Holmes-type mysteries will adore this novel!
