Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
5.0
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is one of the best, if not the best, books I have ever read. The book is beautifully written and I enjoyed every page. It's the kind of book that you notice new things every time you read it again, the kind of book that you could read again and again without getting bored. This is my second time reading it.
The author is able to write all of the emotions that come with being a teenager so well, being confused, scared, angry, and not being able to express any of them. Especially those that come with being a queer teenager- denying it even when every sign points toward not being straight and how overwhelming it can be when you finally confront it.
My favorite thing about this book is Ari's unreliable narration. Throughout the book, the things narrates don't always correspond with his actions, leading the reader to believe that he's trying to convince himself out of thinking or believing something.
