Rabbit-Proof Fence: The True Story of One of the Greatest Escapes of All Time by Doris Pilkington

5.0

A wonderful story about three Aboriginal girls that were taken from their home for a European education in Australia, but then run away from the school and manage to walk over 1000 miles home. Absolutely a story that remains relevant today. Boarding schools are, and have always been, terrible for Indigenous people and this is an example. However, here, we have girls that take their life into their own hands and remain resilient.
