This was the perfect sci-fi book. You get to know the characters like you're a part of their found family. You also get to know the world (and it's quite the amazing world) so much so that you feel a part of it. It's incredible to me that Becky Chambers managed to fit such a massive and detailed world into a regular-sized book! I was fascinated by all the different species and cultures, and I loved to learn about them in the slow, meandering way of the story. There was never too much of one thing. Finishing this book felt like the end of a long journey I had gone on with all the characters. I can't wait to start the next book!
