This was sooo good! I did the tandem read with Powerful and I feel like it really enhanced the experience. It made all the emotions hit harder. I also don’t know that my heart could have handled reading Powerful after finishing Powerless. This story checks all the boxes: Corrupt monarch, hidden identity, revenge, rebellions, heartbreak, romantic tension, SOOOO MUCH SLOW BURN, and a slight love triangle. The ending was dramatic without being a terrible cliffhanger, and yet I am hard pressed not to immediately jump into Reckless. 
The narrators were all superb. Chase Brown as Kai was perfect. His voice was deep and soothing while still having youth to it. And Cecily did a great job of capturing all the emotions and conflict in Paedyn.
