Disappointed but not surprised by the negative reviews I’ve seen for Animal. This book is not for everyone.

But what I think is important, and some people are not understanding, is the cycle of abuse. I don’t think Taddeo wrote all of these horrific scenes merely for “shock value”, but yes, they are shocking. For people saying, “this much abuse can’t happen to one person!”… YES, it can, and it often does. That’s why it’s a cycle. And when you’re in it, it feels never ending. You have to claw your way out. 

Some of these negative reviews man… have a little compassion, empathy and understanding. Glad your life seems to be all rainbows and butterflies, but that’s not everyone’s reality.
