I really enjoyed this volume in this series! It was that enjoyable!
In general, I really appreciate that this volume goes deep into the feelings of the protagonists. They both show vulnerability, and you get to see them work it out.
We have, for example, Asako experiencing jealousy. But she eventually communicates that and what she needs to feel secure in her relationship with Natori.
I also really liked Asako’s brother—Keita! He definitely has chaotic energy, but it’s really born out of experience seeing his sister be mistreated. He just wants to make sure she isn’t hurt, and it’s valid for him to feel that way.
I also liked that we got a little bit more backstory for Natori. We learned about his blind mother, and how this led to him developing his sense of smell. We also got to see him in a more vulnerable state as he was sick, and his sense of smell was out of commission, and it made him feel really uncomfortable. He couldn’t process the world as he normally does. So, just like Asako, I liked seeing this new side of him. And it was just precious to see Asako take care of him!
All in all, I’m so happy with this volume. It was lovely! 💖
