The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison
5.0
what a spectacular read. brings back the faith that the books i had purchased years and years ago are of the finest quality--or at least, some are.
the appeal of The Goblin Emperor is the finesse with which it is told. court intrigue might be one of my favourite fantasy genres, and this performs in the highest of degrees. meticulous, subtle, and nuanced, i loved every minute of it. it took me so long to read only because i did not want for it to end.
i also bear the honour of shedding a few tears towards the latter end of the book. i'd rate this ten stars if i could.
