The Yes Factor by Erin Spencer, Emma Sable
3.0
I expected to really love this book, but honestly it was just okay. The dual narrators don't do this story any real favors and you can definitely tell that there are two authors writing the book because it feels a little disjointed. I liked Bex and her storyline and conceptually I really loved Liv's Yes Factor idea (especially because it is on my bucket list to do a Yes Month and a Yes Year) but in reality she came off as aggressive and forceful and generally inconsiderate. Her whole backstory and character arc is generally unlikeable and felt like filler. I was finally getting around to liking (ish) her and was looking forward to her 'aha' moment and then the book ended, with the hint of a second book. Unfortunately I don't think I liked these characters enough to bother reading the second one. I wish that the book had just focused on Bex and her getting back into the game with Liv being a more supportive friend because I would have loved more of Bex and Devon. I think that was a real missed opportunity. Especially because its rare to have these kinds of books with an MC in their mid to late 30s.
I do love the cover though.
