This volume was underwhelming until the latter half when it hit the ghoul and Hellboy-as-an-African-legend stories (the latter of which probably would have been done a little different if released today). Those brought a weight and wonder (for the latter, at least) that had been trailing a little just due to the shortness of the first handful of tales.
