This book has two parallel storylines about an old widow caring for a with a dementia patient ant the nursing home she works at and the struggle of a mother to accept her daughter’s queerness. It might be a little naive of me to have wanted a more positive ending or overall experience reading this book but that shouldn’t affect the score of this book. This book can be a bit graphic and difficult at times. I think the Author does a good job at explaining the mindset and struggle that people with traditional values and worldviews have, and that’s the main focus of this book. Personally I would have liked to have more of a focus on the conversations between the daughter and the mother about her sexuality and greater exploration of the main conflict but it’s still a solid book.
