This was a prime example of why I should read book summeries, I had no idea what I was getting into but I did not expect the amount of depth that I found in the story of Atticus and Hazel. So many deep thoughts, deep feelings, heartbreak, and healing. This is one of those books that changes you, leaves you appreciating life a little bit more.
I always enjoy reading books with artistic characters, maybe because I’m not artistic at all? Whatever the reason, I enjoy seeing the world through their eyes, even if it’s only for a moment.
"People who don’t appreciate art aren’t living a full life. Art, whether it’s music, paint, words, whatever the medium, busts veins of color that usually lay dormant beneath our skin. It gives life love. It opens the mind for greater pursuits."
I really have no words to say other than this story is beautiful and tragic all wrapped together. If you make it through without your heart breaking then you have to be made of stone. As always, even though it hurt to read this book I want to share my misery with you so I definitely suggest you read it!
