Weyward by Emilia Hart
4.0
4.5! Weyward is told from the perspective of 3 generations of Weyward’s: Altha (early 1600’s), Violet (1940’s) & Kate (2019)
Each of them have similar stories-they’ve been stripped of their power and their independence as women. It was heartbreaking to read how each of them suffered loss and betrayal but it was also very empowering to see how they fought back and grew from their experiences, ultimately finding their strength both in themselves and through learning of their lineage.
The atmosphere and setting in the book was so well done (I can’t believe this was a debut!) - I honestly felt like I was in the Weyward cottage as it was described, it felt very immersive.
The only reason this wasn’t a full 5 star is because I found the middle was a bit slow and I wanted a little more of the witchy lore - I just wanted more which is a compliment to how much l enjoyed this book!
