This novel received 5 stars from me mainly because the concept was so interesting. You can envision this becoming America in the future if we remain intent on taking away the rights of the people, controlling their lives, punishing people for even the most menial deeds in a variety of public and humiliating ways, and not enforcing a separation of church and state. This America is degressive. This America is terrifying. This America could be ours.
