WARNING: SPOILERS.

I loved this book. It was actioned-packed and the writing improved a lot since the last one. The battle scenes stood out to me as being very well-written. It was gruesome and exciting. Some of the dialogue was still cliche but it was not as bad as the last book. I did guess some of the twists but I still liked it. Tack's death and Black Suit's identity were very predictable. Other than that, I did not expect anything else.

I really wish this series was a duology instead of a trilogy. This book had a perfect ending and I'm worried the third book would ruin it. If the third book is bad, I will pretend that this was the ending. Most of the characters had a great redemption arc and they weren't flat, one-dimensional characters like they were in the first book. A lot of the characters choices were interesting because of how morally gray they are. What they are doing is wrong but they have to do it to survive. Does it make them bad people? It's an interesting premise that constantly made me conflicted.

Speaking of the characters, Min and Sarah are my girls. I love them. They would have been a power couple. Sarah was a little annoying in the middle because she was doing too much with her speeches but she's still an icon.

Min is a legend. I usually don't like the main characters because they can be boring and good at everything, but Min had a lot of weaknesses. She didn't consider herself a leader and she couldn't fight but she was still so strong. She's smart, persistant with her morals, and has hope. I loved that she grew to being comfortable being a leader.

Noah probably had the biggest redemption arc just because I really did not know how he could come back from killing Min in the last book. I think he did make up for what he did and should be forgiven. I don't really care for the romance but I hope he and Min stay together so we can be done with the tired love triangle stortline. I do not care for it at all. Ethan was annoying and he still is. Same with Tack. He's annoying because he's supposed to be the comedic relief but he just isn't funny to me. The jokes are corny sorry, but they can stay because they are protecting my girl.
