This one was interesting but not great. There was little in the story to really make it stand out in the mystery/thriller realm. I thought the story of the girls sitting on the steps as their dad was cuffed interesting but the rest of it was just...odd.
No one talked in this book. I can't believe there are so many adults in the story with the complete inability to actually open their mouths and communicate. I also found the police procedure and a lot of the reactions off. Case in point, no one goes to 'prison' unless their sentence is >12 months (even convictions <12 months don't go to 'prison') and instead would be in county lock up (jail). There were other points but it was easy to gloss over. Meh, it was okay but didn't stand out.
