Thomas Hardy is one of my favourite writers. Out of the three I've read thus far, I feel this is his most entertaining (although typically depressing) books. The plot was practically knotted with twists and it was brilliant. I don't know if this is my favourite Hardy, that may still be Tess but this is definitely a close second.
