First off, I was glad this was a stand alone because those seem hard to find these days in a fantasy. Next, the prose was beautiful and had me from the get go. The book is told in multiple point of view from several characters, and I liked them all. The brothers were probably my favorite! I did manage to draw some tears in this book.
