This series is a comfort read to me, it’s lighthearted, filled with humor, has lovable characters, covers important topics such as, breaking down stereotypes and presenting a wholesome yet little bit of spice to enthrall all fellow romance lovers.
Each book keeps setting the stage for the next couple in the series so I would highly suggest you read the book in order as the books do present some pretty significant details that come out in the other books. The last book, “Undercover Bromance”, introduced Noah Logan, the IT hacktivist who helped bring down Royce Preston, the man who sexually harassed women, including Alexis Carlisle. Alexis and Noah met under in an unconventional way, but nonetheless it gave them the chance to meet one another and become really great friends. Now in this book, “Crazy Stupid Bromance”, we got to see more of Noah and Alexis’s friendship, and of course their budding romance that they had going on.
Noah was another character I was really interested in learning more about. Noah stuck me as not only a complete sweetheart, but the man was packing some heat in the muscle department whoop whoop! Underneath all his comic book t shirts was the body of a MANLY MAN! Aside from his wonderful physique, I loved how intuitive Noah was especially when it came to Alexis. Noah was attuned to everything and anything Alexis from the way she would act in order to pretend like everything was fine to Noah knowing exactly what would make Alexis feel better. The attention to detail Noah had towards Alexis was both endearing and admirable. In other words, it was the little things that truly made Noah a wonderful man (lucky Alexis).
In this book, we got to see just how much life had changed for Alexis especially after the events in the last book. While I understood that Alexis was initially wary of coming forward about what Royce did to her, I admired how after coming forward, she was able to create a safe space at her cafe for fellow victims and survivors to talk to her, etc. Alexis was able to help others and without even planning it, was helping herself work through her own issues. Although after everything Alexis went through from the last book, you would think everything would have settled down for her… NOPE! Even bigger news got dropped on Alexis’s doorstep, in the form of a sister she never knew she had.
Alexis’s life was once again turned upside down when she not only learned she had a sister, but that she found out who her father was, and more. Honestly Alexis was such a kind and caring person that even considering helping her father just goes to show how much of a considerate person she was.
This story had friends to lovers trope and omg I really enjoyed it. Seeing how attentive and thoughtful Noah and Alexis were to one another highlighted the importance of their relationship and showed how deeply they cared for each other. In the beginning, each person would try to deny their feelings, thinking that friendship was the only option on the table, but thought small, intimate moments that ended with longing gazes, and desires swirling in the air, both Noah and Alexis began to realize there was so much more potential for them.
