This book had the potential to be really good, but it wasn't. It bothered me that the writing style is YA, but the content is adult. The survivor story is a good concept, but there were too many characters, and the author didn't spend enough time fleshing them all out. They were a bit too stereotypical for my liking, and almost none of them were likeable. The book was sad and somber, and the author attempted to sew deep musings throughout that, but they were too formulaic and fell flat. The ending was sweet, and I enjoyed the love-story aspect.
