Losers: Part I by Harley Laroux

I personally imagined the main boys as the skids from Letterkenny for a while, which wasn’t very sexy but cracked me up anyways.
Once I finally pivoted from that mental image to the hot emo boys they’re meant to be, I thought it was a good book. Tons of people recommended it for fans of RH books with MM content. (MMFMM) Everyone was bi and in-love with each other, which is one of my favorite tropes.
It’s primarily a (well-informed and very responsible, but DARK AF) BDSM erotica that dives into the kink world and community. It’s a great counter-book to 50 Shades of Gray’s irresponsible kink rep, but if you’re not into kink then maybe skip this book.
The duology is over 1000 pages, so strap in!
I don’t know if I’m a fan of the author’s writing style. Sometimes the story dragged, and the jock/emo boy rivalry felt a little cliché, but overall it was still good!
Tropes: bi excellence, RH with MM, enemies to lovers, bully romance, found family, master/slave, MMC dom/FMC sub, “who hurt you”, “punish me for my guilt”, “everyone’s white even though it’s the South”, rich girl/poor boy(s), popular girl/loser boy(s)
TW: mental illness, trauma, childhood abuse (physical and emotional), body shaming (by a parent to their adult child), parental rejection, bullying, instances of homophobia/biphobia, and discussions of suicide, graphic violence
