This I think had some of my least favourite parts of the series. Potentially spoilers but also not because there’s not specifics.


Firstly in one scene Elander gets to his feet they speak then 14 lines after standing up he stand up again. Continuity errors ruin a scene for me.

Secondly Cas does the classic and annoying as fuck main character journey of self destructive behaviour because of their saviour complex but in the process act totally out of character and even have a moment of “oh no this is bad my friends showed me the light in the intervention they held….oh well what do they know I’m the saviour of this world let me do this thing that nearly kills me”
It’s old and it’s tired and I think it lessens any character development that’s already occurred. The whole premise of the other books is the strength she has when she is with her friends and then she’s like nah let me do it alone.

I’m still on the fence about Varen I was from day one I think he could be the one to swing it and save them through an act of great sacrifice
