This book has Helena Hunting's signature humor and spice all over it. I was absolutely cackling at some points and swooning and blushing the next. She is such a funny writer, but I love the balance between serious and lighthearted moments. This was a slow burn with lots of tension and I was here for all of it. I loved Ruby and Bancroft from the beginning. I wish they would have been clearer with each other because the third act conflict could have totally been avoided. I also enjoyed Ruby's character development and how she really ended up growing and finding her passions. The spice was great as I expected it would be and I'm so excited to read the rest of this series! Helena is one my favorites and I can't wait to see more happy endings!
