A perfect end to the trilogy. This is my favorite kind of fantasy - dark and intense with characters that aren't always right but who change and grow, and with magic that can't solve every problem. I didn't want to put this book down, even in the darkest moments when I couldn't see how everything could possibly resolve into something resembling a happy ending. 

My only complaint is the overuse of the word "consternation" but I can get over that lol
