A Whisper of Wings by Carina Schnell
4.0
I love all the characters in this book, except Smilla. Rarely has a main protagonist upset me so much. Her constant vendetta and hatred were extremely annoying in the end and I just didn't like her. I also found her ‘relationship’ with Frigga extremely exhausting and somehow unnecessary.
Another point of criticism is that this series definitely needs another book. The story didn't have enough space to develop properly and ‘breathe’. There was just too much happening at once - sometimes they are in Asgard, then back in Midgard, then there and then somewhere else. The world is huge and had the potential to become a wonderful fantasy series. Unfortunately, the story lacked the necessary character development.
However, I did like the inclusion of Norse mythology, the Wild Hunt and the character Gent!
Overall, the book isn't bad, but I was just hoping for a bigger highlight.
4/5 ⭐
