This book has too much going on while somehow still being boring. It feels like a short story stretched into a novel, and it shows.
The fantasy elements were underwhelming. However, the writing itself was exceptional. The ending was confusing and lacked sufficient explanationβ€”I still don’t understand why Marsha had to
die
.
The story delivered on its promise of being a tragedy, living up to the Romeo and Juliet inspiration.

These two carried the entire book for me! As the youngest members of their feuding families, they don’t fully grasp their roles in the decades-old grudge. Instead, they focus on finding happiness in each other, which is what truly matters to them.

These two got the short end of the stick. Their stories broke my heart with the sacrifices they had to make for the sake of their families.
