How Civil Wars Start: And How to Stop Them by Barbara F. Walter
informative
medium-paced
4.5
I read a decent amount of nonfiction, but this one has been the most interesting an informative for me. Learning how Civil Wars across the world have started since the end of WW2, and how that relates to the current political situation in America. This book does an excellent job of breaking down the typical pieces that lead up to and play into Civil Wars, like a Step-By-Step. The history and current everts covered are also clear to understand and compare.
The author and I share similar viewpoints on American politics, but I think this book would be a good read for anyone that is interested in understanding the crisis the United States is in no matter the political view. Maybe that is just me.
Interesting Fact that I was hazily aware of but hit so much harder after reading this: The United States does not designate Domestic Terrorism a crime or in the same category as Terrorism overall.
