The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler
4.0
WAH!! No more Chandlers left. I was hoping I'd saved the best for last, but I think I stuffed up by reading [b:Killer in the Rain|14848936|Killer in the Rain|Raymond Chandler|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1356450224s/14848936.jpg|808606] first. Mind you, this horrible drizzly weather going on around me this week was totally appropriate for setting the mood. This was the only one of Chandler's full novels I read after reading the short stories he "cannibalised" in order to create it, and it was an interesting experience, like deja vu but never being quite sure if it would turn out the same way. Even so, this felt way more like two stories loosely linked together, and was a little dissatisfying because of it. Since the weather is still bleak I may as well watch Bogey and Bacall act it out while I figure out which of the green penguins I tackle next.
