Since I finished reading Unremembered I have been desperate to read Unforgotten, I wanted it there and then but had the torturous wait of a whole twelve months before I got a copy of Unforgotten in my hands, and what a fantastic bookish day it was when I got the book through my door.

Zen and Seraphina have escaped Diotech and have found safety in 1609, working at a farm in exchange for food and a place to stay. This is a difficult for Sera, adjusting to this new year with its strict ways of life, but also trying to be human and fit into their way of life too. Zen is there to help, finding it easier to settle in himself, and with Zen's help they are able evading difficult questions with tales of sword fights, ships, and the open sea. What starts out peaceful, quickly becomes sour, and Sera finds herself out of the frying pan and literally into the fire. I felt sick with nerves over what was going to happen worried that there would be no way out for Sera, and worrying over what would happen to Zen.

The plot thickens continuously throughout Unforgotten, and when you think everything is OK, that reality is quickly pulled away and you are faced with a whole new reality, a new situation, and a whole new problem to face. Not once do you think everything will be OK and that Sera and Zen will be safe, and that they will find each other again. The last clue that Sera has to find shocked me, I wasn't expecting this person at all, and in my mind I had a small list of other people that it could be. I loved getting to see what happened to this person and seeing their life now.

Kaelen was someone who I wanted to love and hate all at the same time. There were moments that I wanted to push him off a cliff and let him deal with the consequences, and times when I wanted to give him a hug for what he does, and yes I know this is extremely vague, but I want you to experience the same conflicting emotions that I experienced whilst reading Unforgotten.

One of my favourite parts in Unforgotten was the futuristic aspect to it, how everything is run and all the technology that is around, it definitly sounds like its a safer and easier way of life.
Seraphina experiences so much in Unforgotten it was hard to believe she found the strength within to carry on, to keep fighting for Zen and for what she believes in. Seeing how far she has come since Unremembered and seeing how hard she fights her programmed instincts is no easy feat for her. In fact a lot of the time I actually forgot she wasn't human, that she was manufactured and programmed in the future.

Reading Unforgotten was one amazing journey. Jessica Brody certainly knows how to not only keep you on your toes, but also keep you questioning what will happen next. Unforgotten was a truly unforgettable read, and after the ending I need to read the next book now. I can't believe we have to wait till next year to find out what happens next.
