I did not like The Art of Lying very much. I realize it was a novella, but even with a novella, you need to set up the story to make sense. There was absolutely no backstory to Sophia and Preston’s relationship. I thought they barely knew each other at the beginning, but Sophia was acting like a jealous child. Her emotions made no sense. It just wasn’t very well-developed.
