Keeping this spoiler-free so excuse any vaguery along the way. I feel like The Dark Mirror brought a lot of answers we've been waiting on throughout the series and those light bulbs were immensely satisfying. Was it all answers? No. It was a tense read (when is it not where Paige Mahoney is concerned) and that led to nothing getting done in the evenings for a few days.

We got an almighty cliffhanger at the end of book four, so the need to find out what had happened next for Paige and Arcturus made me feel a little wild. I got things I did not expect and I got a huge dose of heartache so that I didn't know where we would end up.

The was a sense of the London crew reassembled to some degree and that included the man we love to hate. I don't know how I feel about where things ended up with London, the rose crown and new pastures. There were also new factions of people around Europe with goals that need to stay on our radar.

I do not like Paige and Arcturus to be seperated at all and while we've seen this happen in most books, it is still hard to digest and accept. That said, it keeps me reading. Talking of these two, Shannon said this was the most romantic book she's written in the series and she wasn't wrong. I appreciated every moment between these two as they danced around one another and then together. They really are an all time favourite couple.

Book five was exceptionally well written, paced and plotted. There were no disappointments and only jaw drops, satisfaction and tension.

Thank you to Bloomsbury for blessing me with an arc.
