I was hoping this would be better than the first book but sadly that wasn’t the case. It definitely suffered a bit from second book syndrome. Which is a shame because the series has SO much potential to be brilliant but just falls a little short so far. What really diminished my enjoyment of this book in particular was all the love and romance. I just wanted blood and guts and war. Here’s hoping the series ends with a bang in the third and final book!
