I've really enjoyed the Peculiar Tastes series so far, but this one felt really disconnected. I didn't love the horror vibe and neither of the characters felt unique to me. Also, for a series that deals a lot with spice and deals, there wasn't enough of either of those things. The first spice scene happened more than halfway into the book and it didn't feel very rewarding. This one didn't do it for me, but I'm looking forward to the last two installments.
