Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides

5.0

Extraordinarily written, this book goes between a hermaphrodite growing up in late 20th century America and the story of Greek immigrants living the American dream. Very real, except for when Cal/liope becomes omniscient and inserts into other people's minds to complete parts of the story.

This was at times a quick read and at times more thought-provoking and slow. I enjoyed it throughout, though.
