Beautiful Country by Qian Julie Wang

emotional hopeful sad slow-paced

3.5

Qian Julie Wang’s story is powerful. I value reading the story of an undocumented immigrant in New York City. The pace was a little bit slow for my taste, and because I’ve been on a hiatus from memoirs, I wasn’t always engaged. This is really a 4 star book, but I had a 3.5 star experience with it.
