Thanks to BookSirens for the ARC. This was wild. Without a shadow of doubt, it's the darkest horror I've ever read, and I don't think I'd have been able to watch it as a film. Luckily for me, I have no image-based imagination, so it was marginally less horrifying. This book contained all the trigger warnings, so I knew what I was letting myself in for - and I think I've found my limit.
Aside from the (deliberately) immensely distasteful - and very well-written - content, the overall storyline was entertaining, and I felt like the ending was perfect.
