As someone who loves adventure stories, fantasy, mystery, Scotland and spicy romance this book covered all bases for me, and I loved it!

We follow Riley, with a family history in curse breaking she is the first to want to branch out and make it into a profession. This takes her to Scotland, where she has been hired to work at breaking a centuries old curse on a Scottish castle, with questions around its history and the origin of the curse she already has her work set out for her. Also hired by the historical society to investigate the castle is archeologist Clark, straight out of a previous scandal he has taken this small slow job in hopes to get his head down and rebuild it.

When Clark is faced with Riley his skepticism and attraction to her clash, along with the curse doing everything it can play a role in causing chaos.

I really enjoyed this story, it had so many elements that I love, and I feel like it all came together really well. The only reason I haven’t given it 5⭐️ is that the pacing felt a little off in some places and there were a few moments of filler, but overall it was a brilliant story, and I would read a whole series based on Clark and Riley travelling the world and breaking curses. They have amazing chemistry and I found the spice in this really unexpected but was definitely some of my favourite spice scenes, the first one in the camper had me very hot and flustered!

I wish we had found out a little more about what happened to the castle when the curse was initially cast, but I have my own theory which I am happy to stick with.

I am really hoping there will be more and this will be a series as I would really like to read it!
